My life began at Providence Hospital Anchorage some thirty years ago, and today I am happy to still call Alaska my home. Unlike the majority of Alaskans I am from “The Bush.” I was raised in Port Alsworth Alaska a small town of about 100 people, 200 miles southwest of Anchorage. Most of my early life was spent in my family’s business – a sportfishing lodge – where I gained a passion for life in the outdoors. I attended public school and graduated from one of our larger classes at the time, a whopping two people.

In 1998 I enrolled in Wheaton College, a private Christian school outside of Chicago, where I majored in Computer Science and graduated Magnum Cum Laude in 2002.

That same year I began medical school at the University of Washington where I was a part of the WWAMI program. I completed my first year, and many of my third and fourth year rotations here in Alaska.

I graduated from medical school and moved to Denver Colorado in 2006 where I completed my residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Science Center. While there I was selected for a position in the Hospitalist Training Track, one of a few programs around the country to provide special, directed training in the field of Hospitalist medicine.

I returned to Anchorage in 2009 and joined The Alaska Hospitalist Group, where I am proud to work with a wonderful group of colleagues serving the people of Alaska.
