Nurse Practitioners

I have worked as a nurse practitioner for 18 years in the areas of cardiothoracic surgery, urgent care, and nephrology. I initially graduated with my Bachelors In Nursing in 1992 and worked as a nurse in the intensive and coronary care units. I received my Masters degree from the University of Alaska in 1999 and became a board certified family nurse practitioner. I received received a post-masters certificate in acute care medicine in December of 2016 and my doctorate in nursing from the University of Arizona in 2017.

I was previously the President for the Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association, serving on board for three years. While serving on the board I represented nurse practitioners in Juneau, speaking with legislators regarding the health needs of Alaskans. I am currently on the Community Ministry Board for Providence Hospital and am the chair of the Quality Improvement Committee.

I have a special interest in health promotion and wellness. I have been a certified group fitness instructor for 25 years, teaching classes at the Alaska Club. I enjoy hiking, biking and reading.
