Elizabeth Cummings, MD

Hospitalist

Libby Cummings is originally from coastal Maine, and spent much of her childhood in the White Mountains of Maine and New Hampshire. She earned her B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University, where she also competed in downhill ski racing. In between her undergraduate and medical school studies, she spent a year teaching English in a public school in France and another year working in health insurance outreach and enrollment in Maine during the rollout of the Affordable Care Act health insurance marketplaces. She attended medical school at Yale University, where she helped lead a student-organized course on health disparities and social justice. She met her partner, Isaac Lopez, while they were both completing Internal Medicine residency at UC San Francisco. They are excited to be in Alaska, living out their dream of practicing medicine in a rural setting and enjoying hiking, mountain biking, and skiing.
