Dwight Gurley, MD, FACP, graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine then completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City affiliated hospitals. He came to Alaska with his family as an Air Force physician and was deployed twice in support of the Iraq War before retiring from the USAF in 2004. He subsequently rejoined the Elmendorf Air Force Base DoD/VA hospital, as a staff hospitalist for the Veterans Administration before joining The Alaska Hospitalist Group in 2011.
TAHG is a well-organized and staffed hospitalist group. Two of TAHG’s current doctors are also respected former colleagues. I am excited about hospital medicine and the opportunity to work with the superb physicians and staff in this group.
Dr. Gurley is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and member of the Society of Hospital Medicine and the Alaska State Medical Association. He lives in Eagle River and enjoys several outdoors-oriented interests.
